Although we spend more time in front of TV screens than their movie counterparts, many of us cannot recall the director of our favorite TV show, or rather favorite episode of our favorite TV show. But ask who directed our favorite three movies and we likely answer without hesitation.
Losing esteemed television director James Burrows recently brought to mind our unfamiliarity with television directing itself. What makes the television space so different from that of feature films? If you have any interest in becoming a television director or exploring opportunities in this sphere of entertainment, you don’t want to miss this episode of the Cup of Tea Critiques Podcast, where we cover the fundamental differences between directing for the big and small screens.
Think of a television show you regularly watch. We challenge you to send us a comment with the names of people who directed 3 of your favorite episodes.
